Japan's Far North 7 Day Hiking Tour 2025

Posted

This summer, our August-September Japan's Far North 7 Day Hiking Tour proved to be a popular departure. Yuka and Tobaji guided our guests across the capes of Rebun Island, up the peaks of Rishiri Island and around the northernmost tip of Wakkanai. And as you can see from the many smiling faces in this gallery, everyone had a great time! Thank you to all of our guests for participating as always and we are delighted that everyone enjoyed their northern island adventure.

Set sail for Rebun Island!
A group of hikers wear rain gear on a very damp day, standing in front of a view of Sukoton Cape. They stand either side of a sign which reads in Japanese, "Sukoton Cape, the northernmost point".
Not even a rainy day at Cape Sukoton can dampen the spirits of Adventure Hokkaido guests and guides!

A photograph of Atka mackerel on a grill, a fish that is characteristic of Hokkaido cuisine. The fish has been butterflied and filled with miso and spring onions, ready to grill.
Of course, it wouldn't be a visit to Rishiri Island without some delicious grilled Atka Mackerel.

We'd like to give a special thanks to tour participant Samir Patel, who has kindly allowed us to use his photographs here on the website.
